Leaving in two days!

This doesn't feel real. I can't believe in just a few days, I'll be sitting half way across the world in Barcelona when I'm comfortably typing this while sitting on my couch at home. This has always been my dream, basically since some guy came into Señora Rose's clase de Español 5 to tell the students about traveling abroad to Spain. And now I'm doing it. Well, about to do it. I feel like there are a million things to do and the diligent, list-making, semi-control-freak Cherilyn emerges to make sure everything is in order before I leave the country for the next two months. But I know that once I arrive, I'll have to adjust to the laid back lifestyle of the españoles, who take siestas at 2 in the afternoon, don't eat dinner until 9pm, and don't go out until midnight. No worries though, I think I can get used to that. Ok well the dinner thing might be un poco difícil.

On the dawn of this trip, I'm wondering when did I grow up? Not too long ago, I would've never imagined I would be flying by myself to a foreign country, forced to make it "on my own" for two months. Granted, I'll have the support of my program staff while I'm in Barcelona in July and I'll be with my aunt and cousin for the last two weeks of August. Not to mention, I get to travel with mi amiga favorita, Mu-Ping. I've known that girl since Kindergarten and now we're about to travel Europe together. Crazy. More like, amazing. Summer of our lives? Yeah, pretty much.

My flight officially takes off at 1:09 PM out of SFO on Wednesday, June 30th. 9 hour flight to London, 4 hour layover, 3 hour flight to Barcelona. (Sheesh, I better bring something to pass the time). Anyway, come visit me before I leave! I should really start packing now... Escribiría más cuando llego en España! Hasta luego!
