Tuesday. I had work early at 8:45. I have about a 40 minute commute...it sucks. I have to walk 10 minutes to the metro station, Gloriés, then get on the red line to Catalunya, transfer to the green line, get off at Fontana, then walk another 10 minutes down Gran de Grácia to my work. It's exhausting. But today (thursday) I decided that I'm going to just wear tennis shoes during my commute to and from work, and change into my flats there. Best decision ever. My feet are happy today. My internship is alright so far.. I love the environment and today I finished researching and writing a list of descriptions of the different therapies we have. Next week, my coworker Pierce and I are going to collaborate and combine our descriptions and hopefully formulate a template for a new brochure for the business. I'm also going to start working on fixing the website.
Anyway, Tuesday wasn't too eventful. Got off work, Mu-Ping came over to try to plan our trip this weekend, and then I got a massage! It was amazing. My body feels so much better now. After I ate dinner with my señora and went out to La Rambla after that to walk around and go exploring.
Here are some pictures of my homestay!
Day 7 - miércoles
Wednesday. Had work from 1030-1 and had to go back for a meeting at 4. Then went to cooking class! SO FUN. We learned how to cook: crema catalana (like creme brulee), chupitos de gazpacho (cold tomato soup), pan con tomates (bread with tomatoes and oil), tortillas (potato and onion omelette), y paella! Mu-Ping, Andrew and I helped with the paella. Turned out pretty good, not to brag ;)
finally ready to eat our dinner! there's our jefe de cocina on the right!
Hoy (Today - jueves)
I was able to get off work early today at 1230! Now I'm here, updating some things, doing my laundry, and about to take a much needed siesta (nap)! Later I might go check out parque guell (another one of Gaudí's designs).
Must rest today though and get ready for the crazy weekend that begins tomorrow bright and early. Mu-Ping and I will be traveling to San Sebastian on a train that leaves at 7AM and arrives there around 1PM. We'll spend a day at the beach, eating tapas, walking around the beautiful city and then will catch the bus to our hotel right outside of Pamplona! Saturday morning (early) we'll head into town to watch the running of the bulls! It's gonna be crazy. The running begins at 8am. That reminds me.. I must find something white and red to wear. But don't worry, I definitely will not be running. That afternoon, we'll head to Bilbao via another bus and hang out there for the evening. Sunday: Guggenheim museum! and finally, home (well, back to Barcelona). I'm sure I'll have lots to update when I get back! Hasta luego.
